Thought "BPA-free" meant safe? BPA alternatives have been found in follicular fluid, and they're linked to ovarian reserve dysfunction.
Replacements That Aren't Better
A 2026 study in ACS Omega detected BPA alternatives (BPS, BPF, and others) in the follicular fluid of women and identified them as novel risk factors for ovarian reserve dysfunction. The "safe" replacements for BPA are ending up in the exact same place, the fluid around developing eggs, and causing similar problems.
Diminished ovarian reserve means fewer eggs available for reproduction. These BPA alternatives are acting as endocrine disruptors just like the chemical they replaced.
What You Can Do
Don't trust "BPA-free" labels. Go plastic-free for food and drink whenever possible. Glass, stainless steel, and ceramic are genuinely safer. Browse non-toxic home essentials for bisphenol-free products.
