The newer bisphenol chemicals replacing BPA? They're crossing the placenta too. And they're linked to preterm birth.
BPA Alternatives Get Into Babies
A 2026 study in Environ Toxicol Pharmacol measured the maternal-fetal transfer of emerging bisphenols and found these replacement chemicals in both maternal and fetal tissue. The study also linked exposure to an increased risk of iatrogenic preterm birth (medically necessary early delivery due to complications).
Companies replaced BPA with newer bisphenols to appear safer. But these replacements cross the placenta just like BPA does and are showing up where babies develop.
What You Can Do
Skip all bisphenol products, not just BPA. Use glass and stainless steel. Avoid canned food during pregnancy. Browse non-toxic baby products for genuinely safe alternatives.
