Glyphosate and its breakdown product AMPA have been detected in human stool samples at scale. It's inside us.
Large-Scale Proof of Exposure
A 2026 study in Environ Int conducted large-scale biomonitoring of glyphosate and AMPA by analyzing human and animal feces and comparing results with urine. Fecal analysis proved to be an effective way to measure exposure. The study detected glyphosate and AMPA across the population.
Most people are exposed to glyphosate through food (especially grains, oats, and legumes), drinking water, and environmental contact. The fact that it's measurable in stool means it's passing through our digestive systems regularly.
What You Can Do
Choose organic grains, oats, and cereals (heavily sprayed crops). Filter your water. Wash produce thoroughly. Browse non-toxic kitchen alternatives for a cleaner kitchen routine.
