Not all lead exposure comes from the same place. A new model shows which sources contribute most to children's blood lead levels.

Mapping Lead Sources

A 2026 study used probabilistic biokinetic modeling to quantify the relative contribution of different lead sources to children's blood levels. The model helps identify which interventions (water filters, paint remediation, soil cleanup) would be most effective.

What You Can Do

Test water, paint, and soil. Address the biggest sources first. Browse non-toxic home essentials for lead-free products.
