Microplastics directly damage human lung cells. A lab model using real human bronchial tissue confirmed it.

Lab Proof of Lung Damage

A 2026 study used a human bronchial epithelial cell model at an air-liquid interface (mimicking real breathing conditions) to test microplastic effects. The results: microplastics caused direct damage to airway tissue, including inflammation and barrier disruption.

What You Can Do

Use HEPA air purifiers. Choose natural fiber clothing and bedding. Ventilate your home. Browse non-toxic home essentials for plastic-free indoor environments.
