The Reality of Your Tap Water
A 2026 study published in the Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology found a direct link between PFAS-contaminated water and higher rates of childhood cancer. Researchers analyzed over 6,000 cases in Southern California and discovered that children born in areas with PFOS and PFOA detected in their public water supply faced significantly higher risks.
The Numbers Don't Lie
The data is specific: detection of PFOS in drinking water was associated with a 1.51 times higher odds of neuroblastoma and a 1.83 times higher odds of retinoblastoma. PFOA detection showed a similar 1.85 times higher risk for retinoblastoma. You can review the full study findings here.
Take Control of Your Environment
You cannot change the municipal water supply overnight, but you can reduce your family's exposure at home. Start by installing a high-quality water filtration system certified to remove PFAS. Beyond water, look at the products you use every day that might be leaching these same chemicals into your environment. We have curated a selection of non-toxic home alternatives to help you replace the items that are quietly compromising your space. Audit your home, swap the contaminated gear, and keep your family safe.
