Short-chain PFAS were supposed to be safer. They still reach babies through pregnancy and breast milk.
Shorter Chains, Same Problem
A 2026 study found short-chain PFAS exposure during gestation and breastfeeding transfers these chemicals to nursing infants. Short-chain PFAS are the "replacement" chemicals that companies switched to. They're still reaching babies.
What You Can Do
Reduce PFAS exposure before and during pregnancy. Filter water. Avoid PFAS products. Browse non-toxic baby products.
