What's actually in it

Pesticides are sprayed on crops to control insects, fungi, and weeds. Some residues remain on produce after harvest. Systemic pesticides are absorbed into the plant itself and can't be washed off.

Children, pregnant women, and people who eat a lot of fresh produce face the highest exposures. Organic certification prohibits most synthetic pesticide use.
