What's actually in it

Pesticide residues stay on produce after harvest. Washing helps but doesn't remove everything, especially systemic pesticides that get absorbed into the plant tissue itself.

Some crops consistently test higher for residues than others. The EWG's Dirty Dozen list tracks which fruits and vegetables carry the most. Strawberries, spinach, apples, and grapes regularly top it.
