Is a DockATot safe for babies to sleep in?
Based on 1 peer-reviewed studybaby
Verdict: Avoid
No. Pediatric groups and CPSC warn against loungers for sleep due to suffocation risk.
What's actually in it
DockATot and similar infant loungers are foam-and-fabric products. Beyond foam flame retardants, the bigger concern is suffocation risk during sleep. The AAP and CPSC advise parents to never let babies sleep in loungers or on plush surfaces.
What the research says
Pediatric safety guidelines have documented suffocation deaths in loungers. A 2025 study separately documents chemical risks from foam textiles.
Use a firm crib or bassinet mattress for baby sleep. Loungers are fine for supervised, awake time only.
